This week at work we had a baby shower for a coworker expecting a little girl.  We were decorating a conference room for the shower and I thought it would be nice to have some pink roses.  I brought in this little bouquet holder that I bought at the Alameda Antique Faire many years ago.  Then I picked some roses that are growing along the parking lot

Last weekend I decided to move some furniture around. I originally had my TV on this table on the other side of the room next to the fireplace and I had a vintage dresser here.  I like it this way so much better!  It inspired me to give it a fresh coat of paint...chalk paint of course!  I bought this table at a thrift store years ago and my daughter

Bougainvillea - Show and Tell Friday

Last week I went to Costco just to buy some groceries until I saw this gorgeous bougainvillea out in front of the store. I couldn't resist!  Costco always seems to get me with something I want but don't really need!







Luckily I already had a pot to transplant it into. 



 



I'm really loving the colors of this bougainvillea.  They grow like weeds

Our apartment kitchen is so tiny and when friends are over everyone is always standing around the kitchen and there is nowhere to sit.  I've wanted to get some barstools and Target had them 20% off and I got another 5% off by using my Target Red Card. They were only $30-somthing for both! I couldn't resist! The problem was, they weren't white...they

I finally repainted my coffee table! I've been talking about it for years but after all the furniture I painted in the past I was dreading it! 




 

This time it was a breeze because I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint!  Now I know why everyone raves about this paint! It is AMAZING!  I didn't have to strip or sand I just painted it and then used the

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday! I'm so sorry I'm so very late getting this post up this week. I was sick AGAIN!  I've had three bouts of colds/flu since the day after Thanksgiving! This time I had a high fever for two days but I'm feeling much better now!

Spring Banner Tutorial - Show and Tell Friday

Someone left a comment a couple weeks ago and asked how I made my banners so I thought I would put together a quick tutorial on how I do it.



It's fairly easy.  The hardest part is finding letters that aren't too thick and heavy.  Sometimes I have to go to a couple craft stores to find the right ones.  They can be wood or cardboard, either will work.

Spring Mantel - Show and Tell Friday

I don't really use a recipe though. I just take some veggies...this time I used spinach, mushrooms red and green peppers and green onions.

The Painted Mirror - Show and Tell Friday

 

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  About a week ago I painted the mirror over my fireplace.





 

I used some white paint I already had on hand and then used some Rub 'n Buff in turquoise to highlight the design.  The turquoise was a little too bright so I went over it with some white Rub 'n Buff to lighten it up.  It made a big difference!  I thought I remembered getting a French Blue
