My Hawaiian Vacation - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday! It's Wednesday evening as I write this post and I just got home from my vacation in Hawaii at 9pm. I'm so tired and I have to get up early to go to work tomorrow but I went through some of my photos to share with you. 



Allen has a second home in a resort area in Hawaii and this photo above was taken from the pool area. We had an amazing sunset that night!

 Aloha! I'm blogging from Hawaii!  It's Wednesday at 5:00 pm Hawaiin time which is now 3 hours earlier than California time because they don't move the clocks forward for daylight savings time!  It's 81 degrees! I was sitting outside but had to come in because it's too warm!  I'm a California girl and grew up in that dry climate so any time I'm in humidity of any kind its hard on me!  Really

Camellias - Show and Tell Friday

Welcome to Show and Tell Friday!  Lots of things are beginning to bloom right now in Northern California including the camellias! 







Floating camellia blossoms in a bowl of water is the traditional way to display them.  I used this beautiful cherub pedestal dish I've had for many years.

For the Love of Roses - Show and Tell Friday!

Who doesn't love roses?  I do now but when I was young and moved into my first home I ripped out all the rose bushes because I hated roses! I replaced them with junipers!  Ugh...JUNIPERS!  It's really amazing how much our tastes can change over the years!






Now I love roses... especially pink roses!  I'm really not into red roses at all!  Pink, peach, white, yellow, lavender... really

Because it was a weeknight, I just used a box cake mix. My favorite box cake mix brand is Duncan Hines. I don't like ready-made frosting though so I mix up my own butter cream frosting. It's so much better!  I've shared this recipe before but I'll repost it so you don't have to hunt
